Shia LaBeouf has revealed that he was raped by a woman in an art gallery earlier this year.
The Transformers star, who made the shocking revelations in a series of emails with a journalist from Dazed, said that the incident happened during his #IAMSORRY event in Los Angeles.
The actor sat silently in a gallery for five days with a paper bag on his head and members of the public were invited to visit him, one by one, and spend some time with him, News.com.au reported.
He said that one woman who came with her boyfriend -- who was outside the door when this happened -- whipped his legs for 10 minutes and then stripped his clothing and proceeded to rape him.
The 28-year-old actor said that there were hundreds of people in line when she walked out with dishevelled hair and smudged lipstick and word travelled through the line.
LaBeouf says things got even worse when he realised that his girlfriend, fellow Nymphomaniac actress Mia Goth, was waiting in line to see him when the assault took place.
"On top of that my girl was in line to see me, because it was Valentine's Day and I was living in the gallery for the duration of the event – we were separated for five days, no communication. So it really hurt her as well, as I guess the news of it traveled through the line. When she came in she asked for an explanation, and I couldn't speak, so we both sat with this unexplained trauma silently. It was painful."
Shia LaBeouf's arrests, altercations and attempts at art have garnered more attention than his acting in recent years.
