Kate Winslet’s husband Ned RocknRoll has won a court battle for stopping a UK newspaper from publishing semi-naked photographs of him - taken at a private fancy dress party several years ago.
Lawyers for RocknRoll, 34, argued that there was no public interest in The Sun printing the images and it would be a breach of his privacy, which could lead to the 37-year-old actress’ kids being bullied.
The judge at London’s High Court ruled in favour of RocknRoll and ordered the publication not to publish the photographs pending any trial, adding that he would give the reasons for his verdict at a later date, Stuff.co.nz reported.
The couple said in a statement that they had stopped the newspaper from publishing semi-naked photographs of RocknRoll, which were taken by a friend at a private 21st birthday party a few years ago.
The photos were innocent but embarrassing and that there was no reason to splash them across a newspaper, they said.
The couple added that they recognised that in the internet age privacy was harder to maintain but they would continue doing what they could to protect Winslet’s kids from the results of media intrusion.
