Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt is currently in Arthur Road Jail and is likely to stay there for a month. Dutt surrenderd on May 16 at TADA court.
SC sentenced the actor to five years of jail in the case of illegal possession of arms related to 1993 Mumbai riots on March 21.
When the verdict came, Sanjay's old time friend Salman Khan was among the earliest ones to reach out to the convicted actor. Salman was in USA for his medical check-up at the time. Salman visited Dutt soon after his return to India.
Here's an image that captures the moment of a despondant Sanjay being comforted by his wife and a close friend.
Sanjay and Salman first worked together in Saajan (1991). The duo came together on screen only a decade later with Chal Mere Bhai (2000).
Dutt has several foul-weather friends in Bollywood besides Salman Khan. After the verdict came, Bollywood stars stood together in support of the actor who brought Gandhigiri in fashion with his Munnabhai series. Rajkumar Hirani, Vidya Balan, Sophie Choudhary, Apoorva Lakhia hurried to Imperial Heights, Pali Hill, Mumbai to meet Dutt and express their solidarityy with the actor.
While Mahesh Bhatt was seen accompanying Sanjay Dutt on the day the actor surrendered, other B-town stars like producer Bunty Walia, director Apoorva Lakhia, Rahul Agarwal, among others were spotted outside Sanjay's residence on Wednesday (May 15) night and Thursday (May 16) morning.
Quite evidently, it is not just the producers who will miss this Khalnayak in B-town.
