Controversies seem to be hounding seductress Priyanka Chopra. After much and hue cry with her ex-secretary Prakash Jaju, now members of the Bharatiya Yuva Morcha in Indore have staged a protest against the release of film Krrish starring the actress.
The party workers were protesting against the actress's alleged nexus with the underworld, and the threat calls received by Priyanka's fromer secretary Prakash Jaju, from Karachi-based underworld don Chhota Shakeel on behalf of her.
"We, members of youth Congress are protesting against actress Priyanka Chopra for her nexus with the underworld. She had threatened Indore's Prakash Jaju," said Devendra Singh Yadav, President of Youth Congress, Indore.
Police officials said that the security had already been provided to avoid any untoward incident. Around 50 - 60 protesters have been taken in to preventive custody.
"We had knowledge about the protest. So, to avoid any incident, we have arrested them," said Arvind Tiwari, City Superintendent of Police (CSP), Indore.
Meanwhile, the film distributors who had met the Police Superintendent were assured that adequate security will be provided for the release of the movie.
"Some people related to the film industry had met the Superintendent of Police. He assured that the films would run in the theatres undisturbed and security has been provided. People are enjoying the movie,” said Kishore Murari, a film distributor.
Jaju allegedly said that Priyanka did not pay the dues to him worth around Rupees 1.37 crores as commission, for introducing her in Bollywood and getting her lead roles. He had issued legal notice to her asking her to settle his dues. Jaju had also lodged a complaint that he had received a threat call from Karachi-based underworld don Chhota Shakeel on behalf of Priyanka.
