Rohit verma is a wannabe
Friends and acquaintances say about the designer who is making history as the bitchiest inmate in the history of Bigg Boss .tabloid Updated: Nov 03, 2009 15:54 IST
He was introduced into the Bigg Boss house as a designer par excellence, who’s as creative with his words as with his creations. While his creations are yet to be seen, turns out Rohit Verma is indeed quite ‘creative’ with words. So much that barely a month after the show premiered, he is garnering the reputation of being the one of the bitchiest people in the history of the show. And the contestants who’ve been with him on the show couldn’t agree more.
Recently evicted Sherlyn Chopra says, “I didn’t know about him till I met him on the show. I never got positive vibes from him, and now that I’m out of the house, I realise that he’s more dangerous than the most poisonous snake.” Kamal Rashid Khan, whose tiff with Verma led to his ouster from the show, adds, “Uski itni galti nahi hai. Rohit gay hai, aur gays ka character hota hai bitching karne ka. The show wanted a gay to bitch about the people inside. Once, when Poonam Dhillon was praying, he even called her a “kutiya (b**tch)”.”
Contestants from previous seasons, who have also interacted with him outside the house, too, have things to say. Sambhavana Seth says, “Even if he’s playing a game, he should realise that he’s also representing the gay community. His behaviour leads people to generalise that the entire community is bitchy.” While Raja Chaudhary calls his behaviour “strange and manipulative”, Kashmera Shah says, “Although he’s no Rohit Bal, he fits into the category of a nobody trying to be somebody. He is a little bit of a drama queen in real life too.”
Zulfi Syed, who’s worked on a couple of shows with him, says he only knows of his work as a choreographer and not as a fashion designer.
A friend of Verma who claims to have known him for several years, says, “Rohit has a habit of bitching and he creates problems even among his friends. He is a struggler who manipulates businessmen to get work.” People who’ve met him socially have their opinions about him as well. A Mumbai-based designer, who occasionally designs for celebs, says, “Nobody knows him, he’s not at all famous.” A Delhi-based designer from a famous designer duo says, “I’ve met him thrice. He has a fake accent, supplements his speech with too many gestures and everyone finds him off-handish. I don’t know about his designing credentials.” Model actress Pooja Missra says, “He is a person who has indulgences as far gossip is concerned.”
