After Bollywood celebrities like Amitabh Bachchan, Lata Mangeshkar, AR Rahman, Karan Johar, Ajay Devgn and Kajol offered their support to raise funds for charity, now Salman Khan and Madhuri Dixit have joined hands for the same cause.
Star India Network has conceptualised a first-of-its-kind gala that urges people to donate as well as raise funds for the rehabilitation of people affected in the Uttarakhand floods. The live event will be on for seven hours. Several personalities from television such as Anas Rashid, Mohit Raina, Neelu Waghela, Jay Bhanushali and Sargun Mehta, too have come forward to support the initiative.
"Salman, who has his own non-profit charity organisation, was keen to get on board when he was approached for this event,” says a source, adding, “In this TV promo, he will be talking about how the viewers can donate money online and through other methods. The promo will run multiple times on TV on various channels of the network. It will ensure awareness about the event, and help meet the goal of raising as much money as possible leading up to the live event."
Madhuri too will be shooting a promo for it soon. The source adds, “Salman will make a donation. The details of what exactly he will be doing at the event are being worked out. It will take a few days to finalise them."
