Shoaib Akhtar becomes troll fodder for his confusing tweet
Former Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Akhtar was trolled on Twitter after tweeting a confusing post on Monday.
Former Pakistani fast-bowler Shoaib Akhtar became a victim of Twitter’s cruel trolling after posting a confusing tweet on Monday.
A legend amongst best pacers of the game of cricket, Akhtar is nicknamed the ‘Rawalpindi Express’, as a tribute to his home town and fast bowling. But this time, he bowled too quick -- Akhtar forgot to proof read before posting and in no time Twitter’s trolls caught on to his mistake.
After meeting the first Pakistani woman to climb Mount Everest, the highest peak in the world, he posted a photo with her – but unfortunately, the tweet made no sense.
At first, his followers made numerous attempts to decipher his message. When they found no success, the bowler unknowingly became the butt of jokes.
Most Twitter reactions brought together grammar Nazis who couldn’t help but troll the ace bowler’s broken English.
Some trolled him for striking a ‘surgical’ attack on English language in his attempt to share a proud moment with his followers.
Akhtar later realised his mistake and deleted the tweet.
