Pop star Katy Perry explains her involvement in a new trailer for The Sims 3: Showtime, an expansion pack for The Sims 3 that debuted on March 6.
"I can't wait for it to be out because you could be a medley of different things," she says of the optional Sims 3 extra."You could be a DJ, a magician, a singer, an acrobat. You can twirl fire. Basically you could be the most talented Sim ever!"
The Sims' advertising manager offers an alternative perspective, saying "The Sims is all about being yourself and having that uniqueness ... there's no better person than Katy
Perry to show that."
Both Perry and music chart compatriot Lady Gaga have featured in spin-offs for the iPhone series Tap Tap Revenge, and at one point Gaga was thought to be in line to back The Sims 3: Showtime.
Gaga instead made her own mega-mainstream gaming debut as part of a FarmVille promotion in 2011, while preferring to have her songs as part of the Dance Central soundtracks as opposed to Katy Perry's continued presence as part of the Just Dance series.
