Heartened by 2011's well-received Mortal Kombat: Legacy, Warner Bros has two more high-profile web series coming up, one for mech shooter Hawken and a new season for Legacy itself.

Kevin Tancharoen is still on board for Mortal Kombat: Legacy Season 2, which will focus on the series' pan-dimensional fighting tournament itself and acknowledge fan requests for 'more fighting, more action, more visual effects.'

While Mortal Kombat is a ten-year-old series available on multiple gaming devices, Hawken is a new multiplayer action game, originally trialed for PC gamers.

'Hawken is a cutting-edge gaming franchise that lends itself to multiple platforms,' reads a Warner Premiere statement, and the game is now being listed for PCs, Macs, and tablets on the basis that streaming service Gaikai will be carrying it.

Both web series announcements were devoid of accompanying release dates, though Hawken the game is due December 2012 and Mortal Kombat studio NetherRealm is occupied with DC Comics fighter Injustice: Gods Among Us.

Microsoft is also getting in on the video game web series act with Halo 4: Forward Until Dawn to support the sci-fi shooter's November launch.
