'Dropchord' music game leverages Leap Motion controls

The last time Double Fine delved into the music genre, it resulted in the Jack Black-starring, heavy metal hybrid "Brütal Legend." This time, we're looking at an arcade-style "music-driven score challenge game" for iOS, Windows PC and Mac.

The last time Double Fine delved into the music genre, it resulted in the Jack Black-starring, heavy metal hybrid "Brütal Legend." This time, we're looking at an arcade-style "music-driven score challenge game" for iOS, Windows PC and Mac.

Double Fine's last game was "Kinect Party," for the Microsoft voice and motion controlled Kinect sensor on Xbox 360, a device that does for arms and legs what the portable, pocket-sized Leap Motion does for fingers.

As such, "Dropchord" will launch first on the Leap Motion app store, Airspace, with the gesture-controlled device due in May.
