Restaurateurs now accept offers and post new menus on their FB pages for users to take notice. “It’s a great way to keep in touch with customers. They scribble on the wall to book a table and we block it. Many also post experiences of dining here. We give equal weightage to people booking through FB or the phone,” says Sohrab Sitaram of Tabula Rasa and Chi Kitchen & Bar in Saket.

Satish Warrier of Gunpowder in Hauz Khas Village, too, accepts booking requests through FB. “Many of our permanent clients just drop in a message on our page and we oblige them. Given the number of people on social networking sites, the trend will only flourish,” says Warrier.

The upwardly mobile give it a thumbs up. “It’s better than making multiple calls to restaurants,” says Raghav Mathur, an IT professional. Among other eateries active on FB are Big Chill Café (Khan Market), Smoke House Grill (Masjid Moth) and Magique (Saket).
