FarmvilleAn auto rickshaw, a ‘chaat’ stand and a sari clothesline — these are some of the new items that have given Farmville an Indian twist. The popular Facebook game application, played by more than 82 million users worldwide, has introduced a set of desi items, which users can buy to decorate their farms with.

Last year, the Indian flag was added to the game’s inventory. These aren’t the only items that have Indians pepped. Among the animals users can now buy are — the Indian Langur Monkey and the Indian Elephant. And it’s not just about decoration — users now have the option of growing yellow dal (lentil) as well as the banyan tree.

The introduction of these desi items has got users talking online."Loving Farmville’s Indian flavour this month. Growing yellow dal and planning to buy a yummy chaat stand," writes Rohini K, a user.

“A rickshaw, chaat and even a sari shop. Brand India is surely going places!” posts Brendan Smith. “I wasn’t a fan, but now I’m hooked. Go Indiaaaa,” posts Smriti Saxena.
