Need For Speed: Most Wanted (2005) is, in our humble opinion, the best Need for Speed ever made. So when we heard that developer Criterion was about to reboot this game, we were really excited. On paper, it sounds like a winning combo, however, it stumbles along the way.
There are cop chases, high octane races and side-activities to indulge in, but the biggest culprit in this game is the way the cars take control. They don’t feel responsive at all, and when you combine that with super-aggressive cops and an insane amount of traffic, you have a game in which you’ll crash a lot. Not a whole lot of fun, especially in a game called ‘Need For Speed’.
The multiplayer is a redeeming factor and can be fun, especially when played with friends. You create a lobby, invite your friends, chose in-game challenges (or create your own) and basically have a good time.It is not a bad game, but it definitely feels like a bit of a let-down, especially for the fans.
Verdict: There is fun involved as long as you keep your expectations in check.
