A futuristic super-soldier, the Deathwing Terminator, tangles with a horde of hideous Genestealer aliens in the debut teaser for "Space Hulk: Deathwing."
Streum On Studio, based just east of Paris, is named after a play on the French word for "monster" and is best known for the cyberpunk action of "EYE: Divine Cybermancy."
Recent "Space Hulk" tie-ins have spanned genres from real-time strategy to turn-based tactics and pleasingly dumb third-person orc-bashing carnivals, but "Deathwing" opts to plunge players into a more traditional first-person perspective.
"Space Hulk: Deathwing offers players the chance to experience a desperate battle against Genestealers in the claustrophobic tunnels of a Space Hulk, as they will gain skills, new abilities and new equipment thanks to experience earned during perilous missions," promises publisher Focus Home Interactive.
And quite appropriately, given the Unreal Engine's association with the stompy "Gears of War" series, "Space Hulk: Deathwing" will be built upon Unreal Engine 4.
As of yet there's no release date announcement or even target platform -- a Space Marine tangling with a hideous Genestealer is deemed enough for now -- but Windows PC would certainly be a safe bet, given Streum On's previous experience, and at this stage there's no ruling out console versions on Xbox and PlayStation machines.
