A roaring success on PlayStation 3, narrative post-apocalyptic adventure "The Last of Us" is heading for a PlayStation 4 rebirth as "The Last of Us: Remastered."
Suspicions were raised in late March when PlayStation Turkey VP Sercan Sulun told CNN Turkey that "The Last of Us" would be on PS4 by summer.
Sony Europe then responded to fan excitement with a statement that was not flat-out denial, but rather a dampener, reminding readers that "at no time have we announced that 'The Last of Us' is coming to PS4."
Yet the evening of April 8 brought another indication that a PS4 version is indeed on track, when (if only temporarily) the online Sony Entertainment Store accomodated a pre-order page for the new edition.
And the transition from PS3 to PS4 makes sense, with the latter's stock high among gaming fans. A chance to play an improved version of "The Last of Us" could encourage new console sales from not only PlayStation 3 owners but also those in the Xbox 360 camp deliberating over which next-gen machine to purchase.
