Samsung Electronics in partnership with Apalya Technologies Pvt Ltd has announced the launch of India’s first mobile phone duo with integrated broadband Mobile TV on the CDMA platform — Corby TV and Metro TV.Mobile TV service is a unicast video streaming of live TV/ recorded content where each handset gets a unique direct one-on-one TV content streaming on the mobile network through unicast technology.

Corby TV has a 2.8” QVGA vibrant TFT display and a highly optimised content bit rate to enable easy streaming of content. The full-touchscreen of the Corby provides a one-touch widget on the home screen which can be used for channel selection. Corby TV supports Mobile TV streaming service in both CDMA 1X and EVDO 3G mobile networks. The handset is OMH-enabled and supports all CDMA network providers who support EVDO service. Corby TV and Metro TV support over 40 live channels and over 10 content-on-demand channels.

The Samsung Corby TV has a mobile broadband capability of up to 2.4 Mbps with 2 MP camera with video recording. The handset also offers 32 one-touch widgets, stereo FM radio, 2,000 phone book contacts and 1,000 SMS storage capability, and supports 8 GB Micro SD card. Corby TV also provides up to 60 minutes of voice recording, Bluetooth 2.0, an interesting youth user interface and active sync feature for push mail support. For users of Corby Speed, Samsung is also offering free software upgrades to Corby TV.
