Amazon has started offering one-hour door delivery for beer, wine and other spirits in New York’s Manhattan through the company’s Prime Now mobile app.
“...we are excited to continue to expand our offerings whether that’s adding beer, wine and spirits in Manhattan starting today or continuing to increase the number of local stores and restaurants in the service,” the company said on its website on Thursday.
The company is charging an extra fee of $7.99 for one-hour delivery while two-hour delivery does not incur extra cost. The service is only available to members of Amazon’s $99 annual Prime loyalty program, an annual membership that offers customers unlimited free two-day shipping on more than 20 million items across all categories.
This is only the second US city to get one-hour booze delivery after Seattle where the company offers one-hour delivery of alcohol.
