If you have been waiting to get your hands on an iPhone, then Apple’s Valentine’s Day offer might come in handy.
Apple is offering cashbacks up to Rs 6,000 on various bank credit and debit cards. The maximum amount of cashback (Rs 6,000) is available on all HDFC Bank Debit and Credit cards. According to the terms and conditions, the cashback will be credited to a customer’s accounts within 90 days of the purchase. The offer is live and will be valid till February 14, 2017.
Additionally, there is a cashback offer of Rs 2,000 applicable on debit and credit cards from other banks as well. Cards from following banks are eligible for the Rs 2,000 cashback offer -- American Express, Axis Bank, Citi bank, HSBC, ICICI, Indusland Bank, Kotak Mahindra Bank, RBL Bank, Standard Charted, SBI, Union Bank and Yes Bank.
Importantly, the cashback is not valid for debit cards of American Express, SBI and Union Bank. However, financing offers are available from Bajaj Finance and Capital First. Flipkart is still offering the phone for Rs 18,990 with monthly instalment options. Users who buy from Flipkart can also avail a 5% discount on Axis Bank Buzz credit cards.
Should you buy it?
An iPhone offer can be tempting but we wouldn’t recommend it at all. First the iPhone 5S 16GB variant has too less space for apps and other things such as music that you would want to store on the phone. The 16GB variant quickly runs out of space.
Second, iPhone 5S is old and so essentially it will slow down on updating to newer iOS versions. Apple is soon expected to launch the 11th edition of iOS.
Third the specifications of the iPhone 5S is worn out. It comes with a 1GB RAM, 8-megapixel camera and a meagre 1,560 mAh battery. The 5S has a 4-inch display which is quite small compared to its successors.
We suggest that there are a lot of good Android phones out there that would make for a better present for your loved one -- Lenovo Z2 Plus or the Samsung A5.
However, if you are an Apple lover, then the deal might be a good idea.
