Instagram has announced a new app that lets users string photos together into a video that can be looped back and forth.
To use Boomerang, users simply choose something to shoot -- preferably something that’s moving -- and the app takes a burst of photos, then strings them together into a high-quality video.
The video can be played both forward and backward, and the result can be shared to Instagram or Facebook.
Boomerang is Instagram’s third spin-off app after Hyperlapse, that lets users easily shoot time-lapse videos, and Layout, that allows them to create grids of images.
Boomerang is available beginning Thursday for iOS and Android.
