Samsung is gradually building the hype for the Mobile World Congress 2016, set to take place next week in Barcelona. Two teaser videos on the much-anticipated Galaxy S7 smartphone, expected to be unveiled on February 21, have created some excitement on the internet.
One of the teaser videos reveals new features – Get Ready for #TheNextGalaxy tells us that the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge will be water-resistant and will support wireless charging. It also suggests that the new mobiles will retain the same design aesthetics as that of its predecessors along with a focus on improved low-light camera performance and user privacy.
‘Seven Days of Unboxing’, named after the campaign run by Samsung Nordic, will be a series of videos leading up to the final launch of the mobile at the world congress. The video series will show six people unpacking the next Galaxy S7 smartphone and the final reveal will happen on February 21.
“Today, the interest for technology products is (at its) greatest just before the launch. We can’t reveal the product before it’s launched but nothing says we can’t show it to a few select people, and then let them tell the world what they see,” said Adam Fors, Nordic head of marketing at Samsung.
Mobile World Congress or MWC is the largest mobile trade show of the year. It’s a place where we’ve seen some of the biggest smartphone launches over the past few years. This year won’t be any different with giants like LG, Sony, Lenovo, Microsoft and more expected to make some major announcements.
