It is just a matter of days now after which you will be able to share files from your Dropbox account directly via Facebook’s Messenger app while conversing with any of your contacts.
The move by Facebook could be seen as another step to make the Messenger into a one stop solution for all messages on the phone including emails.
To share files directly from the cloud storage service, all you need to do is just hit the “More” button while chatting with a contact. Dropbox should be right there, and you will be able to go through your files and directories and the select the content to share.
Photos and videos will appear instantly in-chat, while the others will act as links to the Dropbox app (or, failing that, the web location, as if you’d shared it from your desktop). So Facebook won’t be hosting your sensitive PowerPoints and PDFs but will just link to them.
Also, the social network has introduced new chat heads for video chats for the Android platform. You will be able to have a floating video chat circle on-screen follow you anywhere on your phone as it currently does for text chats — perhaps even to different video chat apps. iOS users will have to restrict themselves inside the Messenger interface.
