We all have browsed through Flickr images and liked Instagram posts of beautiful locations around the world, bookmarking them for future travel plans. Now, a new Google Chrome extension Tripstr, lets you plan a holiday based on pictures of places that are geo-tagged from Flickr or Instagram.

Tripstr, launched last month, is founded by advertising company DDB Mudra in collaboration with travel company Broken Compass. It provides users a chance to visit any geo-tagged place, from a tiny lane to an offbeat beach.

“It works as a desktop app. It opens up by giving you the geo-tagged images available on your Instagram or Flickr feed. You have to provide information such as trip duration and number of people. It gives you a trip estimate, starting from your flight travel – including the nearest airport to the country or city you want to travel to – and also your entire itinerary of the place you wish to visit,” says Manjari Verma, 34, co-founder of Broken Compass.

The app thus will give you a trip estimate, starting from your flight travel – including the nearest airport to the country or city you want to travel to – and if you wish, an itinerary of the places you wish to visit.
