Many people are still wondering if the Noida-based Ringing Bells can live upto its promise and actually deliver a 251 smartphone.

Now the company has announced a new cash on delivery option for the Freedom 251 smartphone on its Facebook page.

The company says that the new cash on delivery payment option will be only available for the first 25 lakh people who initially registered the Freedom 251 online.

"In furthering our service to you, we, at Ringing Bells, have decided to offer "Cash on Delivery" terms vs the previous Offer of via "Payment Gateway"! By this, you, our esteemed Customer, will be required to make payment only when the phone is delivered to you. We are in the process of compiling the emails and issuing these to first 25 lakh registrations very soon," says the company on its Facebook page.

Noida-based Ringing Bells has come under a immense scrutiny off-late by tax authorities as the well as industry body ICA ( Indian Cellular Association). But the firm's founder Mohit Goel stays adamant and says that the company will deliver all phones on time. In fact, he also revealed in an interview that the company will make a profit of 31 on every unit of Freedom 251 sold.
