Google doodle marks 14th Special Olympics World Summer Games

Google doodle is celebrating the 14th Special Olympics World Summer Games, which starts today and will run till 2nd August in Los Angeles.

Google doodle is celebrating the 14th Special Olympics World Summer Games, which starts today and will run till 2nd August in Los Angeles.

In the animated doodle, athletes are seen stretching, lifting weights, swimming and kicking soccer balls.

The Special Olympics World Games are an international sporting competition for athletes with intellectual disabilities, organized by Special Olympics, and this year's event will witness 6,500 athletes representing over 160 countries, along with 30,000 volunteers.

It is speculated around 500,000 spectators will come to cheer the athletes at the sporting event, which will take place at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

The venue was also used during 1932 and 1984 Olympics.
