Have you had problems while navigating on the video toolbar on YouTube? Do you wish that someway you might be able to rewind or fast forward videos just by holding the phone in one hand? Your prayers have been answered as in the form of a new feature, Google’s, YouTube app now allows users to fast forward or rewind videos just by double tapping on the video playback screen.
Users can move 10 seconds forward or backward in any video, irrespective of whether the app is in full-screen mode or not, by tapping twice on the right or left side of the screen respectively. According to several reports, the feature is active and available on both iOS and Android platforms.
However, Google seems to be rolling it out slowly as several reports also indicate that the faeture might not be available for everyone yet. It is also not clear when the feature was introduced as we discrovered it while running some clips on an iPad.
Further, YouTube app’s version 12.04 update on iOS also allows users to control videos from the lock screen while casting to Chromecast devices, smart TVs or gaming consoles.
YouTube for iOS users also get Play/Pause, Prev/Next and volume controls on the lock screen and Control Center as well with the latest update. If the feature has not shown up for you, make sure that you update your app to the latest version from respective app store.
