With the return of the odd-even rule in Delhi, many commuters find it difficult to get a cab. Even if you find one, you could end up paying extra for price surges which is bound to leave a hole on your pocket.
Here is an app that tries to solve the cab problem - Cabto. The app, launched in February, is a platform that allows customers to find cabs from multiple vendors such as Ola, Uber, Meru and EasyCabs. It also provides a price estimate including surge pricing so that customers can choose the cheapest available option.
If you provide a destination it then calculates prices and filters with cheapest cab/auto on top and then takes you to the selected vendor’s site to complete the transaction. It also shows nearby places to explore which could be a useful feature if you are travelling.
“Customers gets to see the cheapest and nearest cab options in one place this helps them to make informed purchase and bookings,” Syed Hidayath, founder and CEO of Cabto, said.
“This will work as a boon for customers during odd-even as surcharges will be generally high and we help customers avoid surcharges. This is just the beginning, we are looking at creating a travel marketplace with one stop travel solutions for customers including ride shares/bike taxis, self drives and inter city rental,” he added.
Cabto has its presence in bigger cities and will soon launch its services in smaller cities.
