Indians can view YouTube Red Originals via Play Store, YouTube

YouTube originals are now available on their official channel and have a varied price (Rs. 50-250) depending on their length.

YouTube Red, which is an ad-free premium version of the video streaming site that also lets users save videos offline and play videos in background, has gone live with its original movies and although Red is not available in India, Google has left a back door for viewers to watch the content.

The Google-owned site, last year, had said that it would be making the original content (called YouTube Originals) live on February 10 and had listed out the shows which included titles like Scare PewDiePie,Sing It!, Lazer Team and A Trip to Unicorn Island.

YouTube Originals, which is a list of original series and movies from some of YouTube’s popular creators, in India can be viewed either via the Google Play Store or via YouTube.

“As the blog post says, it [YouTube Red Originals] will be available in select countries on Google Play. Thislink will give you more details. In India, rentals are not available but movies will still be available for purchase on YouTube and Google Play Store,” a YouTube spokesperson told HT that.
