Dubbed as the cheapest iPhone ever, we were all rather excited about the launch of the iPhone SE in India. Though all our excitement kind of faded away as soon as the company announced that its 16 GB variant would be priced at Rs 39,000 in India. If that sounds too much for you, the price of its 64GB variant has also been released which is yet again ridiculously priced at Rs 49,000.
The price tag for the iPhone SE 64 GB variant were made official on the company’s India website. Despite the 4-inch screen size, the iPhone SE does not comprise on power and gets more or less the same innards found in last year’s flagship -- the iPhone 6s. Despite that, the device has got mixed reviews so far which is largely due to its pricing.
In terms of specifications, the iPhone SE features the latest A9 and M9 motion coprocessor, the same 12-megapixel iSight camera found on the iPhone 6s, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, LTE, a Touch ID fingerprint sensor along with support for Apple Pay.
The iPhone SE will be available in Gold, Rose Gold, Silver and Space Grey colour variants. The smartphone will be available for purchase in India starting April 8 from Apple Authorised Resellers and select carriers.
