Xiaomi is all set to roll out MIUI 7, the latest version of its operating system for its smartphones and tablets, today.
MIUI 7 is based on Android 5.1 Lollipop and will be available as a simple download on pretty much every single device in Xiaomi’s portfolio. These include the Redmi 1S, Redmi 1S 4G, Redmi 2, Redmi 2A, Redmi 2S, Redmi Note, Redmi Note 4G, Redmi Note 2, Mi 2, Mi 4, Mi 4c, Mi 4i, Mi Note, Mi Note Pro, and the Mi Pad.
Xiaomi has been testing a beta version of the operating system since August. It includes four major themes, and, in India, country-specific featuers such as Interactive Visual Response (IVR), which lets users skip voice prompts when using services like banking and booking flight tickets. There’s also a Child Mode, that lets parents restrict which apps their children can use.
