As expected, OnePlus 6 debuted in London on Wednesday with top-of-the-line specifications. But the latest flagship smartphone also marks OnePlus' big shift in the approach to the design. From a glass back panel to an Apple iPhone X-like notch display, OnePlus seems now more serious about "premium look and feel." So, where this puts the OnePlus 5T which isn't even one year old?

OnePlus 5T itself brought new changes for the OnePlus family as compared to the OnePlus 3 series. In comparison to its predecessor OnePlus 6 brings something new like water resistance while retaining older features like the 3.5mm audio jack. Here's a detailed look at the changes and improvements between OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 5T.

Camera
OnePlus 6 continues with the dual-camera setup which comprises of 20-megapixel and 16-megapixel Sony IMX519 sensors. The cameras have improved though as it now comes with both OIS and EIS including slow motion video recording at 480fps. For selfies, the smartphone offers a 16-megapixel Sony IMX371 sensor with f/2.0 aperture and EIS. OnePlus will also roll out a software update soon which will bring 'Portrait Mode' on the selfie camera of OnePlus 6.

OnePlus 5T also has the same dual-camera setup of 16-megapixel and 20-megapixel sensors with PDAF, and dual LED flash. Up front, it houses a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture for selfies.

Design, Display
OnePlus 6 is a distinct change from its predecessor owing to the iPhone X-like notch display. It also has a Gorilla Glass 5 glass back as compared to the aluminium body on the 5T. OnePlus 6 features a bigger 6.28-inch Optic AMOLED edge-to-edge display with 19:9 aspect ratio. OnePlus 5T, on the other hand offers a 6.01-inch Optic AMOLED display with Corning's Gorilla Glass 5 protection on top.

OnePlus 6 and 5T both come with 8GB of RAM but the former has up to 256GB of internal storage. The biggest storage variant on OnePlus 5T is 128GB. OnePlus 6 also comes with 6GB of RAM and 64GB and 128GB storage options.

Battery and OS
OnePlus 6 comes with the same battery capacity of 3,300mAh as seen on the 5T. Both smartphones also come with the company's Dash Charging technology.

On the software front, OnePlus 6 runs OxygenOS 5.1 based on Android 8.1 Oreo. OnePlus 5T also runs the same Android 8.1 Oreo which was rolled out to users last month. At the same time OnePlus 6 users will be able to run Android P public beta on the smartphone.
