Samsung has already confirmed its Galaxy Unpacked event for February 21 in Barcelona, where it’ll most likely unveil the next-gen Galaxy S7. Now new images of the upcoming handset models have surfaced online, courtesy of Evan Blass aka @evleaks, who has a credible track record with his leaks in the past.

The images shared clearly showcase the front panel of the upcoming Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge, suggesting there’ll only be two flaghsip Galaxy variants that’ll be announced in Barcelona. The images are also in line with previous leaks, which suggested that the upcoming Galaxy S7 will retain the same design aesthetics as its predecessor.

Besides sharing these images, Blass also cites a report by Venture Beat which claims that Samsung will be adding the conventional microSD card support, which was missing in the Galaxy S6. The report further indicates a bump in battery capacities in the upcoming flagship model, along with an always-on display on both the models.

As far as innards are concerned, Samsung will likely use different CPUs depending upon the region. In some regions, we may see the Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820 while in others we may see the company’s home-grown Exynos 8 Octa 8890 powering the Galaxy S7. However, the handset will feature 4GB of RAM irrespective of the region and will be available in 32GB or 64GB storage options.

The report further claims we might see a 12 -megapixel camera on the Galaxy S7 as opposed to the 16-megapixel camera found on its predecessor. However, the rear camera is expected to gain an advanced f/1.7 lens aperture compared to the f/1.9 found on the S6.

Samsung has already confirmed their presence at the upcoming Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, where it is all set to announce its next generation of flagships. The company has also published a teaser video titled ‘The Next Galaxy’, which clearly indicates the launch of the Galaxy S7. In addition, the video also shows off Samsung’s VR headset, suggesting there might be a surprise in store.
