Samsung just like Apple for its 10th-anniversary edition iPhone 8 is leaving no stones unturned for the launch of its next flagship Galaxy S8 that is expected to come with its proprietary Bixby Assistant. More so when the flagship launch comes after Samsung’s Galaxy Note 7 fiasco.
Although there were some reports about Google trying to push its own Google Assistant on the Galaxy S8, it now seems almost confirmed that the S8 will come with the new Bixby assistant.
According to a new leak, Samsung’s Bixby assistant will support eight launguages at the start with more languages support coming in the future. As per ETNews reports, Samsung S8’s Bixy will support more languages that the Google Assistant which currently supports only English, Hindi, German, and Portuguese (only on Allo). Interestingly, Apple’s Siri is the clear winner in this arena and offers support for more than 30 languages. Microsoft’s Cortana also offers support in more languages than the Google Assistant.
Additionally, Samsung’s Bixby is expected to come integrated into native apps such as camera and voice search. The female voice of the virtual assistant is said to be called Kestra, while Bixby will be the name for the male voice. Aslo, recent leaks of images of S8 show that Samsung has designed a dedicated button for Bixby.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 is rumoured to come in two variants - 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch - the larger one expected to be called Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus. The display for both is tipped to be dual-edged with little to no bezel at the front.
