Pressplay has teamed up with Northwestern Railways to make watching videos on trains possible even when your phone can’t catch a signal.

Currently available on Delhi-Bikaner and Delhi – Udaipur bound Delhi Bikaner Intercity (22471 up & 22472 down) and Chetak Express (12981 up & 12982 down), the service will be extended to 30 more trains of the Northwestern Railways by the next quarter. The service is free and works with the help of PressPlay WiFi hotspots installed on these trains.

PressPlay already has hotspots in Shuttl buses, Ola cabs, Oyo Rooms, Cafe Coffee Day outlets, Looks Saloons, R.S.R.T.C buses and Fortis hospitals among other locations and services. With the recent addition of hotsopts on trains and possession of a large library of Indian content, they could pose major competition even to international players like Netflix in the country.
