Rumours are afloat that Microsoft Office, the industry leading productivity suite, will be coming to Apple's iPad and Android-based tablets this fall. "Microsoft is currently planning to release the company's full Office suite for not only Apple's iPad, but for Android tablets as well.
The company is targeting November of this year for both launches", reports BGR.com.

The report said it's unclear whether Microsoft plans to release Office on iOS for just the iPad or also for the iPhone and iPod Touch.

A similar rumour surfaced in February when The Daily claimed to have seen a working prototype of Office on an iPad. However, Microsoft denied the reports saying they were "based on inaccurate rumors".

Since the Microsoft team has not issued any denial this time, their silence has added more fuel to the circulating rumours.
