For a game that's supposed to be about setting things on fire, Little Inferno has a surprisingly affecting storyline, and an odd art-style that's almost Gorey-esque in application.

Little Inferno is one of a handful of Wii U eShop downloadables available at the Nintendo console's
launch, and the team behind it has a track record of producing curiosities both engrossing and individual.

One of its designers worked on jolly Nitnendo DS title Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure, another on construct 'em up World of Goo, which spread from Nintendo Wii and Windows PCs to Macs, Linux machines, iOS devices and the Android platform.

Alongside Mighty Switch Force, Nano Assault Neo, Trine 2 and Chasing Aurora, Little Inferno was a launch title at the time of the Wii U's North American debut on November 18. Its presence as part of launch plans for European regions on November 30 is to be confirmed, but remains available for download on Windows PCs, with Mac and Linux versions on the way.
