Dishonored is a firstperson adventure game that provides a much-needed dose of adrenaline to the stealth genre. It breaks free from conventional gameplay
clichés, like having to wait in the dark memorising guard patterns. It does not set out to revolutionise the genre, but it brings about some much needed evolution, making it a
must-play, especially for fans of the genre.

The game’s USP lies in its non-linearity, never really forcing players down a pre-determined path. It isn’t an open world game, but it is a non-linear one allowing
multiple solutions to nearly every objective. For example, you come across a patrol. Now will you slow time down to gain the upper hand in combat, possess a rodent to
slip by unnoticed, use ‘Blink’ — a teleporting ability of sorts, to zip by them or summon a pack of rodents to devour them alive?

If you aren’t the blood thirsty variant, you can choose to play the game in a non-lethal manner as well. Of course, you’d be missing out on half the fun because all
your powers have been designed to feel like the natural evolution of a supernatural predator.

But as enjoyable as the game is, it is unfortunately burdened by certain shortcomings like the AI, a complex control scheme and a steep learning curve. Still, these minor faults can definitely be overlooked.

Verdict: Minor faults can definitely be overlooked by Dishonored’s diverse gameplay and the myriad of options at your fingertips.
