The sequel to 2006 strategy success "Company of Heroes" is being readied for deployment on June 25 by new publisher Sega.

As with the original, "Company of Heroes 2" follows the fate of select infantry and armored units throughout World War II but occupies itself with Soviet
progress on the Eastern Front rather than American deployment in Western and Central Europe.

Developer Relic Entertainment had been working toward a March release, but then-publisher THQ ended up selling much of its series and studios during bankruptcy proceedings in January.

Both Relic and the "Company of Heroes" franchise were obtained by Sega for the sum of $26.6 million, adding the two to its stable of strategy games overseen by Creative Assembly of "Total War" fame.

The June release of "Company of Heroes 2" sandwiches it between the release of other well-anticipated Real Time Strategy games "Planetary Annihilation" (expected between April and June), "Wargame: AirLand Battle" (expected between March and May) and "Total War: Rome II," confirmed for October.
