Spanish siblings Penélope and Mónica Cruz are Nintendo's newest family pairing, appearing in an advertisement for New Super Mario Bros. 2 on the handheld 3DS. The console company had previously called upon the services of comic actor Robin Williams and his daughter Zelda (herself famously
named after the Nintendo character).

Kim Cattrall had been brought on board for Super Mario 3D Land, and Beyonce fronted commercials for Style Savvy and Rhythm Heaven back in the DSi days.

Microsoft has previously engaged Justin Bieber and Usher in support of the Xbox Kinect's Dance Central series, while Sony partnered with Harrison Ford in a Japanese promotion for Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception on the Playstation 3.
