Acer
Acer revealed today their first, best Windows Phone - the Acer Allegro. Hardware specs were what we expected and the device is the most budget-friendly Windows Phone yet, costing just $420 off-contract.

Highlights of the Allegro include a 1GHz single-core CPU, a 3.6-inch WVGA display, 1GB
RAM, and a 5-megapixel camera with dual-LED flash. The camera is actually unique in that it supports 720p HD video capture using Skype.

In terms of software, the Allegro will ship with Windows Phone 7.5 Mango with Microsoft's Metro UI. No word was given about future support for Tango, but seeing as it is a Windows Phone, the next update is practically a given.

The Acer Allegro is without a doubt the lowest-end Windows Phone on market. That’s because it adheres to exactly the minimum required specs as outlined by Microsoft, and adds nothing more than that. This is obviously how Acer is able to achieve that price.

This phone will be quite a bit cheaper than Nokia’s Lumia 710, so it will be an interesting fight between these devices at the low end.

The Acer Allegro will become available in France in mid-November, and will probably make its way to other European markets before the end of 2011. No word yet on an Indian launch as of yet, but as always we'll keep our ear to the ground.
