Hundreds of loyal Apple users have expressed their anger over the technology giant’s failure to release new iPhone 5 adaptors that have rendered current accessories potentially obsolete. Apple’s much awaited gadget has a new charging connector, which is 80 percent smaller than previous
models.

This means millions of people who rushed to buy the new phone can no longer use existing accessories such as music systems and car chargers until they get a new adaptor.

The lack of availability is believed to be due to a delay in Apple’s certification process, which industry experts say could further hold back the release by months, the Daily Mail reports.

According to the paper, the new ‘Lightning’ dock adaptors are not expected to be available until mid-October at the earliest and will also cost an extra 29 dollars.

The complaints over the lack of availability of adaptors is the latest setback for the technology giant, which has been facing widespread criticism over omissions and errors made in its new map service.
