Google celebrates musician Clara Schumann
Google is paying tribute to German musician and composer Clara Schumann on her 193rd birth anniversary. The colourful doodle depicts the gifted pianist playing piano with her eight children. Born in Leipzig on 13 September 1819, Clara went on concert tour to Paris at the young age of
eleven. She later played with renowned musicians including Mendelssohn, Chopin, Joseph Joachim and Liszt.

In her last public performance in March 1891, Schumann played Brahms's Variations on a Theme by Haydn. Five years later she suffered a stroke and died on 20 May at age 76.

The music legend was played onscreen by Hollywood beauty Katharine Hepburn in the 1947 film Song of Love.
