Skype marriages on the rise to get US citizenship

The use of proxy marriages over Skype is increasing, with potential immigrants using the video calls to avoid the expense of matchmaking trips. According to the New York Times, not all US states allow proxy marriage, except for military couples, but in countries like England, Israel and India,
they can be registered marriages in that country, which then can be recognised by the US, News.com.au reported. George Andrews runs a company called Proxy Marriage Now, and said he performed about 500 proxy marriages a year.
