Twitter is a popular micro-blogging site.
Popular micro blogging platform Twitter has planned to introduce measures to reduce the visibility of hate speech on the website, according to a report. According to the firm's Chief Executive Dick Costolo, one solution would be to hide tweets from dubious accounts. "One solution
would be to hide from users' reply page tweets from individuals that are not seen as authoritative," Costolo explained.

These would include users with no followers, no biographical information and no profile picture who just posted abuse on other people's timelines, The Herald Sun reports.

According to a FT.com report, Costelo also admitted this move could diminish the democratic nature of the site.

He also said that the new move was not necessarily in line with the company mantra that 'tweets must flow'.
