Product:  Sony Portable USB Charger CP-F2LSA
Quick specs: Fast charging 2.1A output current; rechargeable Lo-Ion battery
Usp: Charge your smart phone three times on the go
Official price: R5,500 (on the box) The portable charger from Sony is supposed to make charging easier
while you’re on the go.

Pros: After the USB charger has been completely charged once, it lasts you for a good two days, during which you can easily charge your phone thrice. Blinking lights tell you the power status of the charger, with three blinks signifying full power, reducing to two and then one blink. It is a handy option for those who work on the move and need to keep multiple gadgets (the USB port can charge tablets and smartphones) charged at all times. Design wise, it looks sleek, with a silver matt finish and white exteriors.

Cons: At first sight, the concept of this USB charger seems a bit redundant because mobile phone cover chargers and car chargers are becoming increasingly popular, but
it does serve a purpose for tablets. But the entire package, including the charger, the cable and the plug point is cumbersome to carry around. More essentially, for the price of R5,500, users can just opt to buy themselves two spare phone batteries that would serve a similar purpose.

Verdict: For a product that caters to a need that the world of technology is desperately trying to find a solution to — battery life — this one seems a bit expensive. However, it serves the purpose well and is of great use if you have a knack for getting stranded.
