Google is revamping its email message interface for Gmail. The idea is to provide a simple yet intuitive environment for its users, putting the email message at the front and center rather than the extra features.

The main new feature is a pop-up window that can be opened straight
from the inbox, enabling the user access to draft a message. That way, you can keep an eye on your inbox while you are typing away and write several messages simultaneously.

Some longstanding and rather useful features are still on display, such as the recipient header field and the typographic options. Other features will soon grace this new version of Gmail, such as emoticons and invitations for events, labels for outgoing messages and drafts of standard replies for specific situations.

Gmail already displays the option to switch to the new environment, and users have the option to switch back to the old version later.
