High-tech product releases announced the week ending January 4 include the world’s largest OLED TV, a huge 84" 3D TV, the Meizu MX Android smartphone, a camera with WiFi and dual displays, and the Samsung Galaxy Ace Plus smartphone.

The world's largest OLED TV
LG
Electronics will show off the world’s largest OLED TV at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January. The drool-worthy 55" OLED (organic light-emitting diode) TV has an amazingly thin 4mm profile, a barely-there bezel and weighs just 7.5kg. It sports the company’s 4-Color Pixels and Color Refiner features which help to produce a brighter picture and natural, more accurate colors. The 55" OLED TV is rumored to be landing in stores in Q4, 2012. No price has been announced.

A massive 84" TV that listens to your voice
If 55 inches is just too small, LG is also showing off a huge 84-inch prototype 3D TV at CES. The massive "Ultra Definition" TV has a "4K" resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels (four times that of standard Full HD TVs) and features LG’s Smart TV software. The huge TV will come equipped with the company’s motion-sensing Magic Remote, a device which also features voice recognition, smart gestures and voice search. The TV will run over 1,200 apps including Netflix, Hulu and Major League Baseball. No word on pricing or release dates, but the TV will be on display at CES.

A point-and-shoot camera with WiFi and dual displays
Samsung’s newest dual-display camera, the DV300F, sports enhanced dual LCDs and automatic photo sharing with built-in WiFi. The camera is the first in Samsung’s DualView range to offer WiFi connectivity and can directly upload pictures to photo- and video-sharing sites such as Facebook, Picasa and YouTube. Spec-wise the camera features a 16 Megapixel resolution, a 5x optical zoom, a 1.5" front-facing display and a 3" display at the rear, and 25mm wide-angle lens. There are also plenty of built-in editing options. The camera is expected to arrive in March for $199.

An entry-level Android smartphone for Galaxy fans
Samsung’s latest Android smartphone, the Galaxy Ace Plus, bears a striking resemblance to Apple’s iPhone 3G with its curved black plastic back, rounded corners and familiar screen-to-device ratio. The Galaxy Ace Plus is one step up from the company’s existing Galaxy Ace handset but still falls into the entry-level smartphone category. It features a 1GHz processor, Android 2.3 Gingerbread a 3.65-inch 320 x 480pixel resolution LCD screen, a 5MP camera and LED flash, Bluetooth and GPS. The Galaxy Ace Plus is set to arrive in Russia in January before landing in Europe, CIS, Latin America, Southeast and Southwest Asia, the Middle East, Africa and China. Pricing has not been announced.
