Gmail
Gmail users in India can send text messages to mobile phones via Gmail chat free of cost.

Internet giant Google’s free SMS service, already available for Gmail users in 54 other nations across Asia, Africa and North America, is now accessible to users in India. This feature
is available on most major mobile operators. All that a Gmail user needs to do is add the mobile number to his/her contact list. “If your contact replies, the response will appear as a chat reply,” said a Google notification.http://www.hindustantimes.com/Images/Popup/2012/10/12-10-pg1b.jpg

All users get 50 credits every day. When a user sends an SMS, a credit is deducted. If you get a reply from a mobile to your Gmail, 5 credits are added to your account. “Effectively, you’re buying more messages by paying your phone company for outgoing messages,” said Google.
