Mobile
Mobile World Congress is the premier event for the telecom industry to announce and release their latest arsenal to ensnare that next customer. With MWC 2012 around the corner, the industry is rife with rumours and speculations: Will we see the first quad-core phone this year? Is 3D display is the next big thing? This year is going to be pretty exciting for tablets too. Lets look at what the top manufacturers are expected to show this MWC.

Samsung
Samsung Galaxy S3 is not coming this MWC. Expected devices include a lot of cheap phones for the growing markets, along with the Ace Plus and Star 3. Since Samsung is a little short on ICS devices right now, we might be seeing some filler products like Galaxy S2 Plus and Galaxy Note S as well. And then of course there will be Galaxy Ace 2 and Galaxy Mini 2, which are already announced.

Samsung just might show the fabled Galaxy Tab 7.7 and the rumour mills are full of speculation about the Galaxy Tab 11.6, though there is no official word about these.

Sony
One of the most striking things to happen with Sony is the Sony brand taking over the Sony Ericsson portfolio. Along with the Sony Xperia S, we expect Sony Xperia U and Sony Xperia P to pop up as well. we will be expecting more news on the Xperia Play, hopefully.

LG
LG has officially been very quiet about this MWC, but we do expect them to come out with a quad-core phone. Other devices expected will be the LG Optimus 4x HD (has a huge 4.7inch 720p screen and ICS), the L-style trio: L3 (3.2" inch screen), L5 (4" inch screen) and L7 (4.3" inch screen). Then there is Optimus 3D Max, which builds over 3D displays and also brings with it a 3D converter that will ensure your legacy apps appear 3D. LG might also come up with a couple of Windows phones again, which can make things interesting.

HTC
HTC has always been an attention-hog at MWCs with having a tradition of doing some of its biggest launches at the event. The same is expected out of HTC once again, especially after the recent market performance of their stock.

We expect HTC One X, HTC Edge and HTC One S to show their faces at the event. One X is probably going to be the show stealer with its 1.5Ghz Quad-core processes, 32GB internal storage, an 8MP camera and ICS.

Nokia
This has been an interesting year for Nokia with them finally launching their Windows phone handsets. Nokia has been a very reluctant guest at the past MWCs and it might still be the same this year: given their putting up a stall at the 'App Planet' centre. Pulse maybe? Stephen Elop has a keynote and we expect it to bring along with it either of the Nokia Lumia 610 or the Nokia Lumia 900. We are also expecting the N8's successor to show up - the Nokia Pureview 808.

ZTE
ZTE is expected to come up with a range of ICS phones in the Mimosa X and PF200. The company has already confirmed showcasing 8 phones that cover both the Android and Windows Phone OSs. ZTE might showcase a tablet too.

Huawei
Ascend D1 Q has been rocking the industry recently, as news about the phone has been leaking. This quad-core monster from Huawei can very well step with LG and Samsung in terms of a quad-core offering.
