Nokia has sent out an invitation tweet to an October 22 press event.

Featuring a desert skier and the promise of reinvention, this time the ‘innovation' evoked in the invitation is expected to be to the unveiling of the company's long-awaited first phablet and tablet offerings. Nokia had intended to hold a September event to launch a new product but was forced to postpone it due to internal issues.

Therefore, a month later than initially planned, Nokia is expected to take to the stage to unveil the Lumia 1520, the first Windows Phone device to offer a 6-inch full HD display and one supported by 2GB of RAM, a serious Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, 32GB of built-in storage and, if that weren't enough, a MicroSD slot for further expansion. For existing Windows Phone owners, the launch will be good news too as it will signal the release of a software update for all ecosystem devices that will bring a number of new features, including a driving mode.

At the same event, Nokia is also tipped to reveal a similarly high-definition tablet but one that runs the Windows RT operating system rather than the full Windows 8.
Both devices are also expected to boast incredible camera specs. The latest leaks suggest that the 1520 will offer a 20 megapixel Carl Zeiss lens and a host of supporting apps and filters.
