Like him or hate him, Narendra Modi is already being seen as the future leader of the country. And now, his fans have gone a step ahead by announcing a new Smart Namo Android phone.
'Smart Namo' a group claiming to be 'an independent body of fans of Shri Narendra Modi' have announced on the webiste the launch of a mobile phone by the same name.
The upcoming Android smartphone carrying Modi's signature is dedicated to the 'Ironman' of modern India, the official website for the device says.
According to the website, NaMo is an acronym for Narendra Modi, considered to be the face of BJP and Next Generation Android Mobile Odyssey.
The group includes businessmen from Gujarat and are in the electronic smartphone business in China, as mentioned on the website and their official Facebook page.
While the group has not yet specified the exact timeline for the launch, but the website says it will be launched "very soon".
The trend of naming electronic devices after leaders in China gave them the idea, Ammeet Desai, a spokesman for the Smart Namo project told The Wall Street Journal.
The Wall Street Journal report also claimed that the Smart Namo will cost Rs. 16, 000 at launch and have other apps related to Modi.
According to the product specifications mentioned on the website, the phone using Google Inc.'s Android operating system will have a 5-inch screen and include Corning Gorilla Glass 2 protection.
The group also plans to launch the phone with a Narendra Modi 'signature edition'.
It will run on a 1.5GHz quad-core Mediatek MT6589 SoC, that supports dual-sim functionality and have a 13 megapixel camera.
The phone, according to the website, will be available in four versions with 1GB or 2GB RAM and 16GB or 32GB of internal memory.
